Starlight Sanctuary is a unique community center passionate about changing the lives of children in the foster care system. We believe that by placing these children on ranches and connecting them with horses, they can experience profound healing, growth, and a renewed sense of purpose. The peaceful environment of our ranches stands in stark contrast to many experiences found in the traditional foster care system, providing stability, safety, and the nurturing presence of animals.
Through daily hands-on work with horses, our children learn compassion, responsibility, and essential life skills that encourage personal pride and deeper communication. Our mission is to empower foster youth to develop self-reliance, confidence, and an authentic connection to nature. As they leave our care, children carry with them the understanding, empathy, and skills needed to lead more fulfilling and resilient lives.
